Jackson as an AstroPhysicist

Jackson presented last night at our district ETAC committee meeting showcasing his presentation and technology skills which will be of great use to him in his future career as an astrophysicist:

I can't explain how impressive Jackson was. To stand up in front of an audience of 20 people and deliver a great speech not reading from the screen.  He had humor, wit and of course, great stage presence.Plus, Jeff and I got to watch him present surrounded by my old ETAC buddies, some of my former students, and of course, some of Jackson's future teachers.  What a great night.

Spelling Bee

Jackson competed in the school spelling bee today. He was one of the top 24 spellers in the school. He opened the competition spelling running. Then moved on to spelling family, radical and lost on particular. So close...

Mammoth game

Friday night, we treated the kids to a Mammoth lacrosse game. We had never seen a professional lacrosse game before, so we thought it would be a fun outing. We even invited Sean Conway our friend to come with.
Although the Mammoth lost, we had a great time.

Basketball Team Mid Season Party

Saturday night, we hosted a mid season basketball party for Will's team. Lots of laughs and fun. The kids played outside despite the rain and cold temperatures. The adults had a nice time catching up.  What a great team we get to be part of.

2nd grade musical

Will wasn't s overjoyed with his second grade musical production this year, but I thought I would share pictures anyway.

Weekend away with Jackson

This year, Jackson decided to play recreational basketball rather than competitive so that we could go skiing more often.

So, a few weekends ago, Jackson and I headed up to Copper for a weekend away of skiing and some quality time together. We spent the night in Copper and literally walked across a street to the lift the next day. Friday night, Jackson was in charge of getting us up to the resort, picking out the restaurant, and picking out what we watched on TV later that night.  For dinner, we combed the town to find the right restaurant.
Jackson and I out on our date
After he selected a bar that served burgers and fries, we sat down to watch the basketball games on TV.  After we ordered our dinner, I sat watching a guy across the table from us. I was probably staring for quite some time trying to figure out where I knew the guy. After a couple of lucku guesses on Google, I realized Jackson and I were eating dinner next to Louie Vito US Olympic Gold snowboard member.

Jackson, of course, was super excited, as was I. He proceeded to go over and introduce himself to Louie who gave him a big hug, an autograph, and told him to come find him tomorrow on the pipe.  Wow- what a night!

We skied most of the next day leaving early since our toes and hands were frozen.
